Our project

The beginning
Today, it's my turn to make the place my own and try to bring it back to life.
Unlike my ancestors, most of whom were farmers, I’m a city dweller who currently lives in Paris and has lived in several megacities over the world. The quinta represents everything I don’t have on a daily basis: space, nature, silence… the true luxery of our times. This project also allows me to reconnect with my family’s history, to better understand their lifestyles at the time.
We started this major project in 2021. The house had been uninhabited for almost two decades and was therefore in very poor condition. We then worked on new architectural plans to make the house aesthetically pleasing while respecting the traditional architecture of the region.
We decided, of course, to keep the granite stones as the main material, and completely replaced the wooden frames of both buildings. We are working with local specialized craftsmen to restore our quinta to its former glory.
The plan
The project will be carried out in several stages. We have decided to focus on two buildings: the living room area and the entrance, kitchen and bathroom area. The surface area of these two spaces is 100m2.

Renovation
We had to empty the house to get off to a sound start. The wooden floor, walls, ceilings, windows and the old framework were removed. Everything had been damaged by damp.
Take a look at some pictures of the renovation work.
